Sand as an unstable media needs to be influenced by a force in order to get into, and further stay in shape. Thus the bar should be a frozen time frame of highly accelerated sand particles.
The courtyard was seen as a field of possibilities in which the programmatic features of the pavilion are represented as force fields. Further the sand is added to the system by using virtual particle emitters.
The emitted particles populate this field according to their attraction/ repulsion of the force-fields and begin to form the shape of the pavilions body.
The bar‘s shape represents and evolves out of the programmed activities.
